About Toby
I recently started tutoring, and I'm currently studying Mathematics at the University of Warwick. I know first-hand how demanding A Levels can be, so I focus on breaking difficult concepts into simple steps and helping students build both confidence and strong exam technique.
Outside of tutoring, I look after my koi pond and train regularly at the gym — a good balance alongside my studies.

I achieved A* grades in A Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics, along with a Grade 1 in STEP. While at school, I helped run the maths homework club, supporting students of all abilities and learning how to explain difficult concepts in different ways depending on what clicks for each student.
Because I'm a current maths student, I understand both the mathematics itself and the challenges students face learning it — I explain things clearly, logically, and in a way that's easy to remember.
I tutor A Level Mathematics and Further Maths exclusively, one-to-one online, using an interactive whiteboard, with sessions typically lasting one hour. Every lesson is tailored to the student's current level, goals, and learning style, combining clear explanations, worked examples, and past paper practice to build both understanding and exam confidence.
My goal is to help students truly understand the mathematics, so they leave each lesson more confident and better prepared for exams.

Toby was an excellent mentor who helped me achieve a grade 8 in GCSE Maths & an A in A-level Maths. He is patient and encouraging in his teaching, often pushing me to explain my reasoning to help me develop a better understanding of mathematical concepts. My favourite experience was working through the A level Maths past papers together and seeing my score improve with each one we completed.
Toby is fantastic at maths and at teaching it. He is really passionate about the subject and this reflects clearly in all of his lessons. I cannot recommend him more!
