About Elise
I graduated in December 2021 from Cedarville University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Throughout my high school and college experiences, I have had many opportunities to tutor in official and unofficial capacities as a peer, private tutor, and Cedarville University tutor. I also completed several education classes that did not contribute to my degree in order to further develop teaching strategies to implement in my tutoring experiences.

The needs of each individual student are different, and my tutoring sessions reflect that. For some students, it's more helpful to go through examples together with pictures and diagrams, for another, it may be to write out a step by step process and practice implementing that process, and for others, it may just be to learn about strategies for test preparation. Whether tutoring elementary, high school, or college students in math, I strive to adapt to the unique individual needs of each student, aiming for increased conceptual understanding.

I contacted the University looking for a tutor for my high school son - this is how we found Elise. She was very accommodating to our schedule and was able to work with our son on his high school calculus. She was very patient with our son and was able to explain concepts in a variety of ways to better his understanding. I would recommend her for these reasons.
Elise gave me amazing tutoring sessions a while ago when I was taking algebra 2 and geometry! She was focused and dedicated to helping me understand the math at hand and tried out various techniques until we found one I was comfortable with using and worked well with. She helped me until just before my final exam and even after to run through the material I got wrong and explain the right answers. 100% recommend Elise!!
