I currently study at National University to get my Bachelor Degree in Math for education.

Arrange physical seating and set a positive, task-directed atmosphere. Provide opportunity for the student to state task for session. Involve the student in setting an informal agenda. Ask the student to explain his/her general approach for learning this type of problem. Encourage independent work by asking the student to break task into smaller parts. Encourage the student to address task without overly directing him/her. Encourage the student to summarize/explain what has been learned. The student summarize the thought process or skills learned in the tutoring session. After the student explained the content and process of the subjest being study, tutor offers positive statements confirming that the learner did in fact understand. Helpthe student anticipate what the learner will learn next that will connect to the task for which tutoring was sought. Allow the student to make decision regarding returning for another session.
