About Sahand

My academic and professional background in engineering has given me extensive experience working with mathematics, physics, and analytical problem-solving.

During my academic career, I have had experience teaching and assisting students in technical and quantitative subjects, helping them understand challenging concepts and develop strong problem-solving skills.

I approach tutoring with professionalism, patience, and clear communication. I understand that many students seek tutoring when they feel uncertain about difficult topics, so my goal is to create a supportive environment where questions are encouraged and concepts are explained in a clear and structured way.

I work with both high school and university students, helping them strengthen their understanding of mathematics and physics, prepare for exams, and develop confidence in solving challenging problems. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs and learning pace to ensure effective and productive sessions.

My aim as a tutor is not only to help students solve specific problems, but also to help them build the skills and confidence needed to succeed independently in their studies.

About the lesson

Hello! My name is Sahand Nekoeian, a UBC PhD-trained engineer based in Vancouver.

I enjoy helping students understand mathematics and physics through clear explanations and structured problem-solving. My goal is not only to help students solve problems but also to help them build strong analytical thinking and confidence so they can approach new challenges independently.

I work with both high school and university students, and I tailor each lesson to the student’s level, goals, and learning style. Whether you are preparing for an exam, working through assignments, or trying to strengthen your understanding of difficult topics, I aim to make the learning process clear, practical, and effective.

My engineering and data-analysis background allows me to explain mathematical and physical concepts using logical reasoning and practical examples, helping students understand the ideas behind formulas instead of simply memorizing them.

I teach topics including algebra, trigonometry, calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, statistics, and physics, and I can also assist with engineering mathematics, MATLAB, and data analysis.

I regularly help students with courses such as Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Statistics, Physics 11/12, and university-level mathematics.

I offer a short first meeting to understand the student’s goals and determine how I can best support their learning.

I am happy to help with homework questions, assignments, exam preparation, or reviewing topics before important tests.

Flexible scheduling is available, including evenings and weekends.
