About Mariam
I started tutoring at my school as part of the ambassador program as early as 9th grade. I tutored people in the same grade and once, a 10th grader since I was taking college algebra. It was over Zoom so I have experience with using an online whiteboard and also explaining concepts online. Now being a Senior in high school who has gotten an A in college pre-calculus and a B in College Calculus 1, I am confident I can help kids throughout all ages to also excel in math, a subject not so easy for everyone but with the work and dedication, can be.

-I have tutored middle schoolers before and I like to be serious as well as friendly, tutoring shouldn't feel like extra school, it should feel like getting help with your school in a fun and amusing way. - I would usually go over what the student is struggling with, then go with the school syllabus. I would make sure the student is caught up and then if they have the ambition, to go further or delve deeper into the topic. I would typically start a session by asking the student if they have any specific questions or problems they want to go over then go on with a planned lesson that aligns with the student's needs and syllabus. - I think what sets me apart is that a lot of kids feel scared or afraid to get tutored by an adult. Getting tutored by someone who is still in high school might help students with anxiety. - I would typically prefer middle schoolers and elementary schoolers and specifically math, pre-algebra-algebra-1, or any other elementary or middle school math.
