About the lesson

I have a pure Statistics background (BS, MS, and PhD (ABD)) and currently a Statistician for a pharmaceutical company. I have been a university professor and taught College-level Statistics and Algebra. I am passionate on teaching and sharing my knowledge and expertise in both Mathematics and Statistics. I have tutored a lot of high school, undergraduate, and graduate students in different areas of Math and Stats. Aside from teaching the "how" I believe that we also have to teach the "why" such that the student will have a better understanding of the idea or methods. My teaching methods vary depending on the level of the student that I am working with.

I have been teaching and tutoring for more than 20 years now. I have formally taught at least 50 classes (with at least 30 students each class) in Mathematics and Statistics. I have tutored (one-on-one) over two hundred students.

Most of the students I tutored were struggling with their Math/Stats classes and I was able to help them bump their grade up, with at least 2 letter grades, if not an A.

For teaching style, I usually explain a difficult concept into something that they can relate to. When certain topics are complicated for a student, I usually break it down into smaller and simpler concepts.

My success relies on my student's success. I always feel the joy in helping students appreciate Math and Stats more and help build confidence in them that they can do very well.
