About Allyson
I have been in teaching for 10 years, ESL for 4 years. I have an undergraduate degree in Child Development and Family Relations with a minor in World Religions. I then attended GCU and received a masters degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been working with a school district covering K-12 and helping families for the past several years. I am currently getting a second masters degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) through UWRF. My thesis is on teaching all ELL students at every level of profiency to write and the importance of having writing skills.

I teachhow to listen and understand the English language. I also teach English pronunciation. Reading and writing are important skills that are often put off until the student is "proficient" enough. I believe in the holistic approach and include all areas of language in my lessons. I also make an effort to get to know each person, their goals and interests and then adapt and create lessons for their needs.
