About Sylvie Weaver
I have 2 years of experience as a Teaching Assistant in bachelor science classes and 4 years of experience as a science education camp counselor for kids. I got my degree in Molecular Biology at Berkeley and have always loved reading and writing, alongside science. I have also taught English classes to adults at an academy here in Barcelona. In general, I believe that anyone can master a language with consistent practice and by making learning fun and stress-free. My students have told me they appreciate that I do not make them feel bad for not knowing something, and always keep our time together enthusiastic, positive, and stress-free. In my free time, I enjoy surfing, reading fun novels, and cooking!

Our classes together can include vocabulary practice, speaking practice, reading comprehension, and would focus on the areas you want to improve on and the level you are at. I will also be available for practice/help outside of our video calls, such as for a daily text or voice memo to respond to, vocabulary practice, or homework help.
We will speak only in English, but we can compare what we learn to Spanish and learn how the two languages share many common features and roots.
