About Clayton

Hey there! My name is Clayton Covey! Learning about the Bible and teaching others the richness of the Bible is an endeavor that I have gone all in for. This passion has led me to pursue and complete my Master's in Divinity along with completing my Bachelor's Degree in Christian Studies with an Emphasis in Biblical Studies. These were both from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.

Over the last five years, I have had the honor of working in youth and kids ministry settings. This has provided opportunities to thrive in environments where I have taught students through the story of the Bible and helped them connect the dots to the overarching story God is telling from beginning to end. I also have worked as an Instructional Assistant at GCU where I met with students by resourcing them with materials for their projects, tests and papers to best equip them in their learning of what the Bible teaches about the Christian Worldview. Finally, I also have taught lectures in the college setting.

With this experience, I would love the opportunity to connect, learn more about you and see if we may be a good fit for each other.

About the lesson

It was to my great surprise when I realized Church History became my favorite class. However, this had nothing to do with the subject and everything to do with how my professor taught. He always engaged the students' learning by making lessons far more than just going over content, but actually proposing thoughtful questions that related to us in the present, utilizing relevant real life scenarios, role playing, etc...
Because of the impact that this had on my learning, I would approach tutoring sessions in the following ways; coming with lesson outlines that have reflective questions for application that will be dispersed throughout, engaging visual techniques such as pictures, videos, etc...that convey meaning of the main lessons we are going over, and having students come up with a 30 second elevator pitch that they could share with a friend based on what they have learned.

The lessons are for students that are longing to understand God, the Bible and their faith. Regardless if in elementary school or at the high school or college level, my experience covers each group.
