About Akshayaa

I am a high school student pursuing an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, with experience in tutoring elementary and high school English, middle school math, and high school history. Being in advanced classes has taught me that success isn’t just about natural ability—it’s about effort and strategy. This insight helps me connect with students who feel like they’re struggling and guide them toward building skills and confidence. I see tutoring as more than just teaching; it’s about helping students exceed their own expectations. My goal is to ensure they become better than their teacher, learning from both their own mistakes and mine. As academic pressure grows, I focus on helping students build confidence, so they don’t feel overwhelmed by expectations. I believe in a personalized approach, adapting my teaching to each student’s needs rather than following a rigid system. My students describe me as patient, understanding, and creative, and I take pride in making learning engaging and effective.

My Teaching Method:
Every student learns differently, and my teaching approach reflects that. I take the time to understand each student’s unique strengths, struggles, and learning style so that I can tailor my lessons to best engage and support them. Since I am a student myself, I know firsthand the challenges of learning and can build a mutual understanding with my students, making the learning experience more relatable and effective.

A Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-up – A quick activity to get into the right mindset.
Review & Corrections – We go over homework, correct mistakes, and clarify any confusion.
Lesson Content – We cover new material or reinforce previous concepts with focused note-taking and explanations.
Interactive Game – A short, engaging activity to solidify understanding.
Quiz & Wrap-up – A quick assessment to review the day’s lesson and track progress.

What Sets Me Apart:
I don’t just aim to help students pass—I help them excel. Many students feel like they’re falling behind, but my goal is to push them beyond the standard, building both their skills and their confidence. I create a supportive, understanding, and motivational environment where students feel encouraged to challenge themselves.

I offer math tutoring for students from elementary school through high school Algebra 2. My lessons are especially suited for students who feel they’re not meeting expectations and want to go beyond just catching up—I help them surpass the standard and gain confidence in their abilities.
