About Lea

Hey, I'm Lea, 26 years old, and I grew up near Cologne. I've been fascinated by languages since school – especially German and English, which I finished with very good results in my Abitur.

After completing my Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences at the University of Cologne, I moved to Sweden to pursue my Master’s in Peace and Development Studies. Not only did I complete my degree in English, but I also spent several years living and working in an international environment. This experience showed me just how important language is for connecting with people – whether in daily life, at university, or in the workplace.

In my classes, I want to share this passion and enthusiasm for language with you. What matters to me is that my students don’t just memorize vocabulary and grammar – I want them to see language as a tool for self-expression and exploring new perspectives. Together, we’ll break down language barriers and build confidence – always focusing on your personal goals and needs.

About the lesson

My Tutoring Services
I offer individual tutoring in German and English for students of all ages – from middle school to high school preparation, as well as academic writing support for university students and adults. Thanks to my English-language Master's degree in Peace and Development Studies and years of living abroad (including in Sweden and the USA), I have a solid foundation in both academic and professional English.

My Teaching Method
It’s important to me that language isn’t just viewed as a school subject, but as a tool for communication. That's why I focus on active language use and breaking down language barriers – whether it’s speaking, writing, or comprehension. Every student has their own reason for learning a language, whether it’s for school, work, or personal growth. I take this motivation into account and tailor the lessons to be practical and relevant to everyday life.

Typical Lesson Structure

- Quick discussion of current challenges or questions
- Review of previous material to reinforce understanding
- Clear explanation of new content with examples
- Exercises to encourage practical language use (e.g., dialogues or text analysis)
- Final summary with tips for independent study

What Sets Me Apart
Having experienced firsthand the challenges of learning a new language, I also know how rewarding it is to communicate in new contexts. This personal experience allows me to approach my students’ needs with patience, understanding, and motivation. I offer targeted support, especially with longer texts, homework, or English essays, assisting both with language skills and content structuring.
