About Arran
I'm a native English speaker, born and raised in London. I moved to Uppsala in 2018 for postgraduate study, and since that time, I have often used my native proficiency in English to help my fellow students to understand the intricacies of the English language. I am soon due to complete my third higher education degree, all of which have been entirely in English.

I take an adaptive approach to teaching. I allow the student to address key English language issues they would like to improve on, and focus specifically on these. With time, I will help you to speak English like a true native. Through discussion, we can tailor the lessons to the specific areas which you would like to focus on. My teaching is specifically targeted to those who already have a sufficient enough grasp of the English language to be taught in English. I can help you to perfect the intricacies of the language to achieve a native level of proficiency- with exceptional pronunciation, sentence structure, grammar, etc.
I am also happy to work through pieces of writing, as I have significant experience doing spelling and grammar checks for fellow students. My approach is to work through the document, addressing and marking any errors or possible improvements. This is then followed by an explanatory discussion, where questions can be raised, to ensure the student has a deep understanding moving forward.
