  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

I’ve always been fascinated by the internal logic of mathematics—how a complex problem can be stripped down to fundamental truths. My interest peaked during my own schooling when I realized that math isn't about memorizing formulas; it’s about developing a toolkit for structured thinking. Whether it's the geometry of a playground or the logic of a budget, I love how math provides a clear lens to view the world.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My motivation comes from the 'lightbulb moment.' Math is often a source of anxiety for students, and my goal is to dismantle that fear. Seeing a student move from 'I can’t do this' to 'I just did that' is incredibly rewarding. I chose to teach because I believe that a strong mathematical foundation is a fundamental right that opens doors to almost every career path.
  • How does your work help society?

Math education is the backbone of logical citizenship. Beyond engineering or finance, my work helps society by teaching the next generation how to analyze data critically, manage personal risks, and solve problems systematically. In an age of information, being 'mathematically literate' allows individuals to make informed decisions and not be easily misled by satisfaction.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

I’m a firm believer in a balanced life. Outside the classroom, I enjoy cooking . playing cricket Interestingly, I find that many of my hobbies still connect back to my subject; for example, baking is essentially chemistry and ratios / strategy games are all about probability. It helps me stay sharp and brings fresh perspectives back to my students.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

I once had a student who was convinced they were 'bad at math.' We stopped using the textbook for a week and started calculating the stats of their favorite sports team instead. By the end of the month, they weren't just doing the work—they were explaining the logic to their peers. It reminded me that math is only 'hard' until you find the right doorway into a student’s interests.
