About Steven
I am a TEFL qualified English teacher, and have been teaching online to students of various ages and abilities, located in China, Vietnam and Myanmar. I have a neutral English accent, and have years of experience in written and spoken English in a corporate environment. Having completed specialisations in teaching business English and awareness of grammar, I can help you to improve your telephone etiquette and boost your confidence in business email correspondence, as well as learning conversation and listening skills that can help to diffuse difficult interactions where empathy is required. I have also specialised in online teaching as well as one-on-one classes, and have experience in teaching group classes of up to 35 students in an online format, having made use of various platforms, including ClassIn, Zoom and Skype for lessons.

I believe that classes should be tailored to the needs and interests of the students and based on real-life situations as far as possible to retain interest and relevance. I tend to use a communicative approach, and in the case of young learners, I enjoy incorporating visual and musical interactions as well as props, in order to create entertaining content that keeps the learners engaged so that they remember what has been presented. I love having the opportunity to show students that learning English can and should be, fun!
