About Maya
I am a native English speaker and have worked in Vietnam as a full-time ESL public school teacher and tutor over the past two years. I graduated with a Modern Languages degree from a top 10 university in the UK (University of Warwick), so I've been involved with language learning for many years!
I love to see students gain confidence with the English language and build up their reading, listening, writing and speaking skills and work with their interests to create an effective and memorable lesson.

I usually teach 1 to 1.5 hour classes, for students from age 12-18. I have had much teaching experience in public school, private tutoring, summer camp and for charities, so I can engage with many different types of learners!
My methodology consists of building the core skills (speaking, writing, listening and reading) and targeting my students' individual weaknesses. I like to engage the students' personal interests as much as I can and build trust so that the students feel confident. I myself studied languages at university, so I understand how students can build up their language skills and become more confident English speakers.
