About Carol
Teaching works best when it happens as a dialogue, and I try to keep that conversation going throughout our time together. I start by creating a custom study plan for your goals so we can track your progress toward speaking confidence or TOEFL preparation.
My qualifications from Monash ensure that I can guide you through the nuances of exam speaking practice or formal letter writing. These lessons are designed for absolute beginners and intermediate learners who need a steady hand.
We will look at everyday conversation and idioms that often trip up non-native speakers. My 5 years of experience allow me to simplify even the most difficult grammar rules. I really enjoy watching students find their footing in a new language.

Working with languages started as a curiosity about how people connect across borders, and honestly, I was nervous when I first began teaching. Over the last 5 years, I have successfully supported 303 students as they navigate the challenges of mastering English. My degree from Monash gives me a solid foundation for teaching complex skills like academic writing and advanced idioms.
I frequently help immigrants and university applicants find their voice in a new professional or educational environment. I have carefully curated resources that reinforce one another, allowing my students to build confidence in phrasal verbs and email writing. My background as a homeschool-family educator informs my patient and articulate teaching style. I look forward to hearing about your specific linguistic background.
