About Domas

Hallöchen! I'm Domas, an enthusiastic language nerd and tutor, on superprof - for German!

I'm a graduate of UCC, where I studied German, Spanish, and Catalan (oh and Japanese and Polish at some point!)

It's safe to say that I love learning and I love languages. I have always strived to envelop myself in them, and that has involved teaching, both back to myself and to others. My degree involved English language teaching, and abroad in Leipzig (where I studied and lived for a year), also German language teaching, so I have professional experience in both environments. This has raised my confidence, my ability and my desire to teach language clearly, concisely and comprehensively. I currently hold a C1 level of German.

I have encountered every single up and down related to language learning - from lack of cultural insight in a conversation, to the most excruciatingly painful grammar topics. I know what it's like to revise and not understand. I've worked with students from the ages of 12 to 50, and have had the pleasure to interact with a plethora of backgrounds, both during my time at UCC and whilst volunteering for ELC.

That said... I'm a charismatic, organized and thorough person, and I want to help students achieve their language learning goals - that's what brings me to teaching.

About the lesson

Language learning, whether for exams or for personal development is always a challenge. One of the best ways to overcome and ease this challenge is with exposure to all forms of the language.

My lessons are tailored to cover written, oral and aural learning/revision, from the perspective of someone who's gone through the school system, university system and now uses German on a daily basis. This involves personalized work plans: tailored exercises, real exam questions and a constant rapport to support your language learning needs and goals.

I provide 1-2 hour long private lessons on Google Meet, for either JC or LC level students, and/or anyone looking for beginner/intermediate lessons (CEFR A1 to B2). Lessons will be adapted to and are applicable for all ages.

- I have training in both English and German, teaching to speakers of other languages
- I've taught German at ELC during their summer camps
- I am a 1.1 graduate of the BA World Languages program at UCC, majoring in German and Spanish (+ Catalan)
- I got a H1 in my German LC
