About Fiona
I grew up in Switzerland and got addicted to volleyball pretty early. The weekly practice sessions quickly multiplied, and before I knew it, I was living and breathing volleyball on a daily basis - and loved it! Since I was 14, I'd play in junior state leagues, but that wasn't enough volleyball for me, so I joined my club's senior team and competed in what I think would be the Swiss equivalent of premier state. I got to play in the national league when I was 17-18, which was pretty cool. It felt pretty natural to learn to referee as I could make some solid pocket money out of it, and already knew the rules anyway. At 16, I was coaching the club's kids' team. Life's been happening, but I never strayed too far away from the court, playing and coaching whenever I have the opportunity.

I've played competitively for over 10 years, coached junior and social teams, and refereed a bunch. You could say I'm familiar with volleyball, but really I'm just a big fan: it's the coolest, best sport ever!
