Find private volleyball coaching in Tauranga

Learning the rules of volleyball starts with knowing how a team wins each rally.

• Scoring: every rally earns a point, and a set ends when a team reaches 25 with a two-point lead.
• The three-touch rule also means a player cannot hit the ball twice in a row, except after a block.
• Rotation means each team shifts one spot clockwise when it regains the serve.
• Common faults include catching the ball, serving into the net and landing a hit outside the lines.

One-to-one lessons let you ask questions as you play and learn the rules faster.

A private volleyball lesson in Tauranga costs approximately $45/h.

Several factors influence the price:

• Your skill level and learning goals
• The coach's expertise and background
• The package you choose (one-off or regular)

Comparing several profiles helps you find the best value.

A few technical errors hold back many players, but they are easy to correct.

• Swinging the arms when passing sends the ball off target, so keep your platform (the flat surface made by your forearms) still.
• Weak footwork leaves you out of position, so move your feet first and then play the ball.
• Jumping too early or too late costs power, so time your jump to meet the ball at its highest point.
• Poor communication leaves two players chasing one ball, so agree on simple calls with your team.

Personal lessons give you instant feedback so you progress with more confidence.
