About Julia

Hi! I’m Julia, and I love helping kids discover that learning can be fun and rewarding. I’ve worked with elementary and middle school students to build confidence and understanding in math and science. My goal is to make each lesson positive and encouraging, helping students feel proud of what they accomplish. I take time to get to know every student’s learning style so I can explain things in a way that truly clicks for them. Whether it’s breaking down tough math problems or exploring science through real-life examples, I make sure learning feels clear and engaging. With experience in both education and healthcare, I bring patience, organization, and genuine care to every session. I believe that every student can succeed with the right support and I’m here to help them get there!

About the lesson

My Approach as a Tutor: I focus on creating an encouraging, interactive learning environment that helps students build confidence while mastering key concepts. I tailor each lesson to the student’s learning style—using visuals, hands-on examples, and real-world connections to make science and math engaging and understandable.

Teaching Method and Techniques: I use a step-by-step approach that starts with assessing what the student already knows, then build from there using clear explanations, practice problems, and guided review. I encourage students to ask questions and explain concepts in their own words to strengthen understanding and critical thinking.

Typical Lesson Plan: Each session begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by introducing a new concept using examples and visuals. We then practice together, gradually moving toward independent problem-solving. Lessons end with a brief recap and strategies for continued practice between sessions.

What Sets Me Apart: I’m patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoy helping students see that science and math can be fun. My background working with children and my experience in healthcare and education allow me to adapt lessons to different personalities and learning needs.

Who My Lessons Are For: My tutoring is designed for elementary and early middle school students who need extra support or enrichment in math and science. I work with students of all ability levels, helping them strengthen foundational skills and develop a lifelong curiosity for learning.
