About Carlo
My name is Carlo, I come from Modena in northern Italy and have been teaching Italian at Folkuniversitetet since 2014. I have also been a language teacher on a cruise ship and have worked as a substitute mother tongue teacher in Lund municipality.
At the university I studied linguistics, in both Modena and Lund, and have myself studied and learned several languages. Hence my interest in language teaching and my idea to "use" my mother tongue as a target language here in Sweden.

My lessons have communication in focus, which means that my students start learning to speak Italian from the very first class. I particularly care about the pronunciation, which I personally think is the basis for a good language learning, and we will practice a lot in communicating and reading. Of course, we will also go through some grammar that is a must when learning a language as an adult.
After a first class without specific material, I usually follow the book Nuovo Espresso 1 (or 2 depending on the student's level) and start from there. Of course, the student has the opportunity to influence the content of the lesson and suggest other study material.
For more advanced students, I am also available for conversation only without using any book.
Each lesson is at least 1 hour long.

Perfect! Carlo var väldigt trevlig och professionell och anpassassade sig efter min nivå. Vi körde en hel del konversation men även några jättebra grammatiska övningar som han hade en hel samling av. Jag kände att jag lärt mig en massa av bara en lektion, kunde inte vara mer nöjd!
