About Nina

I'm an interior and furniture designer by profession. I've always loved drawing and painting; it runs in my family. Taught many classes in my hometown in the past 5 years, and many of them have come to win competitions and have succeeded. I have also judged art competitions and see that sometimes it's a very fine line between a good art piece and a great one. I believe the learning begins when you truly start enjoying the process.

I think structure is necessary, but there is always flexibility within that structure. I believe each student needs to explore his/her own true technique. But that said, I will walk you through every aspect of painting and would love to answer all your doubts. I can take classes online or at a Tim's or Starbucks nearby.

  • 1) When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

Ever since younger grades, I've always been drawn to art projects, school displays and anything that let my creative juices flow! When I got to high school I got very interested in creating spaces and how a space to be transformed to virtually anything you could dream of! It got me passionate about building low income housing and also intrigued by high end production and manufacturing. This is how I land in my field of furniture designing. Art is a very pre dominant part of my life now as I apply it to literally every aspect of my life and can identify its presence and importance.
  • 2) What makes you passionate about your subject?

My parents have both artistic skills and so they also encouraged me through my own creative journey. From a young age I always wondered why there wasnt affordable housing for many and wanted to figure out how this was a problem that needed to be solved. Though I'm no where close to solving this problem, it's what got me interested. How spaces could flow and make a person efficient in that space was a turning point for me. And from there all the aspects that contributed to form and function were what helped me create optimal spaces.
  • 3) What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

Knowledge and information are to be available to all people of all ages. I've come to realize that I had the ability to break down concepts and make different people understand methods n techniques required for a certain task. This is what led me to tutoring, the sole belief that all that is required is a will to learn, because there is always a way!
  • 4) Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

This is hard as I've had different role models through my years. But if I were to pick a constant role model it would be my mom. Shes an English teacher bybprofessio and I've seen her students come back at different points in time with testimonies in her teaching methods n skills.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

A strong will to learn and a defined goal to your learning is all you need to succeed at anything you put your mind to!
