About Travis Roger

Students can feel confident knowing that they are learning from an experienced and dedicated educator. With a PhD in Climate and Atmospheric Science, university-level teaching experience, and several years of tutoring and mentoring, I bring strong academic and communication skills to every lesson. My approach is professional, patient, and supportive, with lessons tailored to each student's individual needs and goals. I am committed to creating a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their abilities. My Approach as an English Tutor
Teaching Methodology and Techniques

My teaching approach is student-centered, communicative, and individualized. I believe students learn English most effectively when they actively use the language in meaningful situations. I combine direct instruction with guided practice, conversation, role-play, writing exercises, and real-world applications.

I focus on:

Typical Lesson Plan

A typical 60-minute lesson may include:

5 min: Welcome, conversation, and review
5–10 min: Learning objectives and introduction to the topic
10–20 min: Instruction and examples
20–35 min: Guided practice and exercises
35–50 min: Independent speaking, writing, or practical activity
50–55 min: Personalized feedback and corrections
55–60 min: Review and goals for the next lesson

Lessons are flexible and adapted to each student's level and objectives.

What Sets Me Apart

As a PhD graduate in Climate and Atmospheric Science and former university instructor, I have extensive experience communicating complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences. My background in teaching, tutoring, academic writing, research, and presentations allows me to help students develop both their English skills and their confidence as communicators.

Rather than simply correcting mistakes, I identify the underlying difficulty, explain it clearly, and provide strategies that help students become increasingly independent learners.
