About Jonah

I'm a high school student at a college preparatory school in Seattle. I scored 790 on SAT Math and I'm currently taking organic chemistry, so I know these subjects and these tests from the student side, recently.

Outside the classroom, I did a summer research internship in an immuno-oncology lab at Yale, which taught me how math and chemistry are actually used to solve real problems. I also founded and lead my school's Model UN club and am second-in-command at a youth volunteering nonprofit, so I'm used to explaining ideas clearly and helping others improve.

As a tutor, I'm patient and focused on understanding, not memorizing. I'll never just give you the answer; I'll show you why it works so you can do it yourself next time. Being close in age, I know what makes a concept confusing and how to make it click.

About the lesson

I scored 790 on SAT Math, and I teach the way I learned: conceptually. You'll understand what every step, number and variable means, so you can solve problems you've never seen before.

SAT Math – the "Perfect Process" for 700+: Most points are lost on easy and medium questions. We make those near-perfect, then pick up about half the hard ones. I start with a diagnostic, target your weak topics, build a step-by-step routine that eliminates careless errors, and review every mistake so it doesn't repeat.

Calculus 1/AB and other math: Intuition first (what a limit, derivative or integral actually means), then the rules, then exam-style practice so you can explain your reasoning, not just compute.

Chemistry: Currently taking organic chemistry, I teach why reactions, units and equations work, so problem solving feels logical instead of memorized.
