About Alexis
I’m an experienced art educator and illustrator with a BFA in Illustration from California State University, Long Beach. I have several years of experience teaching students from 1st through 12th grade and am currently pursuing my master’s degree and California teaching credential. I’m passionate about helping students develop their artistic skills while building confidence in their own creative voice. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to strengthen your existing skills, I can create a supportive and encouraging environment tailored to your goals.

My approach to tutoring is supportive, hands-on, and personalized to each student’s goals and experience level. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable experimenting and making mistakes, so I focus on building confidence alongside technical skills. A typical lesson may include a short demonstration, guided practice, and time for the student to apply the technique through their own creative project. I also provide feedback and encouragement throughout the process.
With a BFA in Illustration and several years of experience teaching students from 1st through 12th grade, I can adapt lessons to different ages, learning styles, and skill levels. I offer tutoring in drawing, illustration, painting, and general art skills for beginners through advanced students. I can also help students develop portfolios, strengthen foundational skills, or work through specific art projects and assignments.
