About Ken
Hello! I’m Ken Miaka, a passionate Mathematics and Business Studies teacher with over six years of experience.
I became a teacher because I enjoy helping learners discover that even difficult subjects can become simple and enjoyable when taught in the right way. I believe every student can improve when given individual attention, patience, encouragement and the right guidance.
My private tutoring approach is centred on understanding the learner, identifying their gaps and teaching at their pace. I focus not only on getting the correct answer, but on helping students understand why and build the confidence to solve problems independently.
For me, teaching is not just about grades—it is about helping learners believe in themselves and realise their potential.

I believe every learner is different, and effective tutoring begins by understanding the individual student rather than simply following a syllabus.
My one-on-one approach allows me to identify a student's specific learning gaps, work at their pace, strengthen areas of weakness and build on their existing strengths. I focus on understanding rather than memorisation, helping students develop the confidence to approach unfamiliar problems independently.

I have had the pleasure of working alongside Ken as a fellow science educator, collaborating on STEM initiatives and curriculum planning.
Ken is an exceptionally patient, engaging, and adaptable tutor who excels at turning complex concepts into clear moments.
While collaborating on a hands on learning project, I watched Ken break down complex subject matter using real world examples, completely transforming the confidence of students who had previously struggled.
Ken genuinely cares about student growth, creates a supportive environment where questions are welcomed, and consistently tailors lessons to individual learning styles. Any student looking to boost their skills and confidence would be fortunate to work with him.View more recommendations
