About Jack
During my time at school I studied the four key Humanities subjects up to Higher level - achieving A's and B's in Geography, History, Modern Studies and Philosophy. In my last year of High School I was handed the Hector MacMillan Award for Excellence in Humanities.
I went on to study Politics at the University of Stirling, where I also continued my studies in History and Philosophy. I also studied Economics. I graduated in 2017 with a 2.1 classification and also achieved over 90% on my final year dissertation which explored the voting behaviours of 16 & 17 year olds in Scotland.
I have worked for a number of MPs and MSPs before and after my graduation. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of the top names in Scottish politics. Since 2017, I have been based in the Scottish Parliament: formally working in party politics, I now work for The Scottish Government. ,

Using a calm and constructive approach to tutoring, I can help students prepare for upcoming exams, essays, projects or homework assignments over the short or long term. Where possible I like to refer to breaking current affairs stories, or my own personal experience in the field, to provide greater context to the subject, allowing my students to obtain a grounded understanding of Modern Studies and achieve their target grade.
