About Maya

I was part of a enriched math program called Kumon, that allowed me to be quick and ahead of my peers. By the time I was in 3rd grade, I was already doing algebra! So even though I am still a student, I can still tutor people my age. I am confident that I can help you with whatever math problems you have and I'm happy to guide you through your work in a step-by-step manner.

About the lesson

As a math tutor, I focus on building a strong foundation of understanding, encouraging problem-solving skills, and boosting confidence in my students.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my empathy I build strong rapport with students, understanding their challenges and fostering a supportive learning environment that boosts confidence, considering that I am a student myself. I have a commitment to growth. I am dedicated to continuous professional development, staying updated on the latest educational methodologies to provide the best support possible. I am also very patient. I maintain a patient, non-judgmental approach, even when students struggle.

Here’s I approach tutoring:

Personalized Learning: I tailor my instruction to each student's unique learning style and pace. By assessing their current understanding, I identify strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring that concepts are presented in an accessible and relatable manner.

Step-by-Step Approach: I break down complex problems into smaller, manageable steps, guiding students through each one. This method helps reduce anxiety and builds confidence in their problem-solving abilities.
