About Burton
I have 26 years of overall classroom experience. In northern California, I taught grades 4-5 for 17 years as well as junior and secondary English for 6 years. My course knowledge, communication skills and deep commitment to my students earned me Humboldt County's Excellence in Teaching award in May, 2008. I also served three and half years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the country of Botswana.

I earned my Master's Degree in TESOL from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont. The degree was awarded February, 1995. I earned my B.A in English from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I specialize in Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English grades 3 - 12.
