About Evelyn
I’m a dedicated and supportive tutor who believes that learning should be personalized to each student. I focus not only on helping students understand the material, but also on teaching them how to learn effectively and independently. I am patient, organized, and committed to helping students feel confident in their abilities. My goal is for students to leave each lesson not only understanding the material better, but also feeling more prepared to tackle future challenges on their own.

My approach to tutoring goes beyond simply helping students complete their homework—I teach students how to learn effectively and independently. I use proven study strategies such as active recall, the Pomodoro method, and the Feynman technique to help students understand and retain information rather than memorize it temporarily.
Each lesson is personalized to the student’s individual needs, strengths, weaknesses, learning style, and abilities. I adjust my teaching methods based on what works best for each student and create a comfortable environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence.
A typical lesson may include reviewing previous material, identifying areas that need improvement, learning new concepts, practicing together, and finishing with active-recall questions to make sure the student truly understands the material.
What sets me apart is that I want my students to eventually feel confident learning on their own. My goal is not just to help them get through one assignment or test, but to give them study skills they can use throughout school.
I tutor students from elementary school through high school and can provide support across a variety of subjects and academic levels.
