About Quentin
Born in Toronto, I have had the fortune to move around to different parts of the world, and teaching English to students abroad has always been one of the most memorable experiences for me. I love meeting new people and sharing the methods of learning a new language! I am bilingual with English and Spanish, with passable knowledge in French as well.
Before language, I studied Social/Community work at George Brown College and worked with the Toronto community in mediation. I am now a student at the bilingual campus of Glendon at York University in Hispanic Studies. Learning new languages is what I love, and teaching it, I love even more!
Before Covid i was living in Sevilla, Spain taking my CELTA course, and had the opportunity to work with adults in a classroom setting. I am now currently working daily at Dublin-based Centre of English Studies' only North American location here in Toronto. I teach in-class with adults from varying levels.

Hello! My name is Quentin, I am a certified and experienced in-class ESL teacher with a Cambridge CELTA certificate.
Everyone has their own ways of learning, especially when it comes to English. My methodology in teaching is to make the lessons as personable and natural as possible, that way, students can learn in a calm environment whilst covering important/necessary aspects of the language. My typical lesson plan works with grammar first, followed by conversational lessons to put that grammar to practice, and to work on overall conversational growth to work on new vocabulary.
I am experienced in teaching English to youth as well as adults, and have had the opportunity to gain experience on what methodologies work better with varying ages.
I am excited to get to know you, and let's learn English!
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
What impresses me most about Quentin’s neutral accent, conversational English is his enunciation and diction. That means his speech is crystal clear when presenting a lesson and that is not an easy thing. That one distinguishing characteristic of clarity tells me he takes the vocation of language teaching very seriously. He is well prepared.
I have known Quentin for many years seeing him grow from an underaged Spanish language student in Mexico’s National University language program to developing “an ear for French” at the York University – Glendon French language campus.
What better way for a new Canadian to learn the language skills you need to prosper in our society than with help of a genuinely caring teacher who knows and appreciates the challenges you face.

Vaughan, ONGreat teacher! Very clear and makes learning English fun and intuitive
Quentin is a great teacher and his lesson plans are always fun and engaging. He's also always willing to lend a hand if I need extra help!
I've known Quentin for most of my life and he is extremely genuine and trustworthy. I think he truly tries to get to know people with an open mind. He is always adapting to the people in his periphery and trying to accommodate them to feel more comfortable, which is very valuable in a classroom environment. Quentin has spent time with me and been a great listener and source of advice when I have gone through rough periods along my life. I recommend Quentin to Superprof members because he has a great command and understanding of both language and people. I think he would thrive in a teaching environment with any type of student from around the globe!
