About James
I just graduated from Harvard, studying Chemistry & Physics.
I found there that I really enjoyed tutoring other students through the peer tutoring system, and I would like to tutor children or adults in Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Statistics.
As someone who got all A* at GCSE and A-level, I understand how to prepare for exams, but I also love helping people have an appreciation for these amazing subjects and helping people have fun.

My teaching method is very hands-on: I like to guide the student through problems. I find this is more productive and engaging than simply talking at the student. I like to intersperse these questions with short explanations, to keep the student engaged while making sure they have a broad understanding of the material.
My goal is not just to tell the student how to solve this particular problem, but to give them a toolkit for solving problems in general: what questions they should be asking, what information and clues they should be looking for, how they can check their answer etc.

Perfect! Absolutely excellent teacher. My daughter has been raving that James sorted her problematic topic (confused, struggled and hated) just within two lessons. We’re honestly fortunate to find him. Highly recommended.
