About Harlow
The guitar has been my creative compass for as long as I can remember. Over nine years of teaching, I've watched students turn initial curiosity into lasting passion for music. My journey began as a performer, but evolved into teaching when I realized how rewarding it is to see others discover their sound. Every lesson I teach is an opportunity to share that same excitement and discipline that music has given me. My teaching approach is structured yet flexible. I adapt lessons to each student's pace, focusing on both fundamentals and creative exploration. Whether helping a beginner form their first chord or guiding an advanced player through composition, I emphasize patience, precision, and joy. I encourage students to experiment, make mistakes, and grow through experience—music should always feel alive and personal. Outside teaching, I perform, compose, and collaborate with other musicians, continuously learning new techniques and styles. Teaching guitar connects me to something deeply human—the act of creating and sharing music. Helping students express themselves confidently through their instrument remains one of my greatest sources of fulfillment.

I encourage curiosity and self-expression while ensuring solid foundations in chords, scales, and melody construction. The goal is to make learning both effective and enjoyable, turning each session into a moment of discovery.
Beginners start by learning tuning, chord shapes, rhythm exercises, and simple melodies. Intermediate learners expand into improvisation, fingerpicking, and reading tablature or sheet music. Advanced students explore complex techniques, musical arrangement, and performance confidence. Lessons incorporate various genres—pop, classical, and blues—so students develop versatility. Assignments include practice routines, recording projects, and compositional exercises that inspire growth.
The focus of guitar lessons extends beyond technical mastery—it’s about musical identity. Students gain confidence performing, expressing emotion through sound, and connecting music with life experiences. Many go on to compose, record, or perform publicly, discovering that the guitar is not only an instrument but a medium for creativity, resilience, and personal expression.
