About Harper
I discovered my love for guitar at a young age, inspired by its versatility and expressive potential. I earned a B.Mus in Guitar Performance and have spent 7 years teaching students of all ages and skill levels. My teaching emphasises patient guidance, structured instruction, and fostering musical confidence. I design lessons to suit each student’s level, goals, and interests, combining technical exercises, repertoire practice, and improvisation. Lessons are interactive, encouraging experimentation, creativity, and steady skill growth. I prioritise building both technical mastery and expressive ability. Outside teaching, I perform regularly, explore new repertoire, and participate in workshops to refine my skills. Sharing practical performance experience allows students to connect lessons to real-world application. Watching learners develop musical skill, confidence, and expressive ability is deeply rewarding.

Guitar lessons are most effective when students combine technical proficiency with expressive artistry. I focus on chord transitions, fingerstyle techniques, scales, picking patterns, improvisation, and repertoire interpretation. Lessons are structured to gradually build skills while maintaining a motivating and interactive environment. Beginners start with basic chords, simple melodies, finger exercises, and strumming patterns to establish a foundation. Intermediate learners refine chord changes, fingerstyle techniques, improvisation, and repertoire interpretation. Advanced students focus on expressive playing, technical mastery, improvisation, and performance readiness. Each lesson incorporates exercises, demonstrations, and feedback to support steady growth. Studying guitar develops creativity, focus, discipline, and musicality. Students gain confidence as they improve technique and develop their personal musical expression. My goal is to nurture both technical skill and artistic creativity while fostering a lifelong passion for music.
