Greetings!
My name is Adam Brandner. With a strong background in education and a passion for the arts, I am eager to contribute my expertise and dedication to further enhance your institution's mission.
Currently, I serve as an adjunct professor of Composition & Rhetoric at Lonestar College-Kingwood, where I have had the privilege of imparting communication skills to a diverse group of students. Simultaneously, I hold the position of Drama Director at C. E. King High School in Houston. My academic journey has included a B.A. in Theater Education, followed by a master's degree in English & Creative Writing with a focus on Playwriting.
My contributions to the field extend beyond the classroom. I take pride in having over twenty academic and creative nonfiction pieces published, including a notable publication with Writer's Digest. Under the pseudonym Grizzly K. Sunshine, I have seen three full-length plays published by Next Stage Press. In 2016, one of my full-length plays earned the distinction of being featured Off-Broadway at the 777 Roy Arias Theater in New York City. My dedication to the theater arts has led to my recognition as a Tommy Tune Winning Director, and I participate yearly in the Texas UIL One Act Play Competition.
My educational philosophy is rooted in the principle of grit. While passion is undeniably a driving force, I firmly believe that true success is achieved through unwavering perseverance over extended periods. This concept of grit extends beyond the realm of the arts and serves as a life lesson that equips students with the resilience required for success in various aspects of their lives.
I hold the belief that students thrive when they know they have an unwavering advocate in their corner. Therefore, my approach is straightforward: show up, give one's best effort, and genuinely care about the personal growth and artistic development of each student.
