About Kyla
I am a trained actress who has performed in Chicago, London, New York, and Los Angeles. I have a BA from the University of Southern California and am a member of Actor's Equity. I have been an acting coach for many years and have been an arts teacher at Harlem Children's Zone amongst other places. I am dedicated to making my students the best performers that they can be.

I typically start every session with getting to know the student. Why you signed up for the class, what your interests are, and what you expect to get from your experience with me. From that, I set up a detailed lesson plan based on what your needs are.
For acting students, I will ask you to prepare a short monologue before the session and have you do it after we speak. After this we will discuss if your focus will be theater or film and TV and create a lesson plan from there. I would map out what I believe the first four weeks should look like and if there is anything pressing you wish to add to the lesson (like an upcoming audition) then we can do that, as well. After we agree on your lesson plan, we would set up our next time to meet.
I believe that I am very good at assessing where students are and catering to both their needs and wants so that everyone can get the best experience from my lessons and grow at a rate that feels comfortable for them.
