About Sonia

I have played piano for 12+ years, Alto Saxophone for 8+ years, and sang my whole life both as a soloist and in a range of ensembles and choirs. I believe that each student is capable of immense success when taught to recognize their strengths and have grit and determination. Practice makes progress! I myself continue to learn, music is a lifelong journey of discovery and I hope to share that passion with other young musicians.

About the lesson

Hello, I am Sonia,
I base my lessons on each individual student and enjoy teaching a range of styles, including classical, jazz, contemporary and improvisation. Some of my students like the structure of working towards AMEB exams, while others enjoy the freedom of learning popular styles or improvisation. In-Person Lesson length is minimum 45 minutes and Online Lesson length minimum 30 minutes. Open to hybrid modes of learning.

I am a Ravenswood School for Girls Graduate currently undertaking AMusA and LMusA on the alto Saxophone. I am an experienced Pianist, Vocalist (in classical, jazz, pop, choral), and also specialize in music theory and general knowledge. I have taken the Young Women's Jazz course at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and am currently a member of many bands, choirs and perform individually too.
