About Josh

I am currently undertaking my grade 8, after years of learning the drums, and although a student, I feel confident that I can teach beginners to a high standard, thoroughly observing technique and helping them grow as a drummer in the long term, so they feel ready to pursue drumming further in the future if they wish.

About the lesson

Based on personal experience, I understand the importance of a grounded technical ability in basic drum strokes and patterns for beginners, and will take the student through the fundamentals of playing and reading music, with the aim of being able to play in time, to a piece of music/song of their choice after the first few weeks.

Lessons probably not longer than 45 minutes (not an hour) for the drums, just because there can be a lot of new information and movements to learn when starting out with drumming, most of which will require small sessions of dedicated practice between lessons, and it can be quite confusing and inefficient to be bombarded all at once- remember, just 5 minutes of practice a day, 7 days a week :)
