About Pablo
I am an electronic and electrical engineer recently graduated from UCL, whose academic strengths are maths and physics. I am confident in tutoring students, and have experience explaining concepts, breaking them down and going over exercises or papers with students.
I hope to not only aid the student achieve their target grades, as I have in the past, but also raise their confidence in themselves, making them less stressed and more motivated.
During my whole academic experience, the importance of an effective teaching process has been highlighted by the different teachers I had. Personally, I have had the luck of encountering predominantly skilled and constructive teachers. However, some of my peers or the people I taught had a different experience. For this reason, whenever I have tutored a student, I have considered both the importance of both possessing the academic knowledge and understanding the curriculum in depth, as well as being a clear, patient and engaging teacher.
I went to International School of Madrid, which went through the British education system, doing SATs, IGCSEs and A-levels, as well as simultaneously being prepared for the Spanish Baccalaureate. My strengths in academia would be specially mathematics and physics, having obtained successful results for both and having tutored students who struggled in these fields, helping them acquire their target grade. I took Mathematics, Physics, Further Mathematics, French and Spanish for A-level as well as History and Chemistry for AS-level. I can also teach History, Spanish and IGCSE science in all of it branches.
My experience in tutoring:
• I tutored an alumnus who was in year 9, (British curriculum) and I helped her in several subjects including mathematics, science, history and English. She was getting a failing grade for some of these, since she struggled to keep up and concentrate in class, and after my tutoring she finally managed to pass all of her subjects.
• I tutored a peer when she was in year 11. She struggled in mathematics and coordinated science and wanted to achieve a satisfying grade in her IGCSEs. Before I tutored her, she didn’t manage to get higher than a D grade in her tests, and after six months of tutoring she achieved a B in her mathematics and an A in coordinated sciences.
• Lastly, this school year I have tutored a year 12 student, helping him with his maths AS and then again, the next year with his A-Level, while he was receiving online classes, and I helped him get an A*
I have completed my degree on electrical and electronic engineering in University College of London, which has demanded me to use and improve my mathematics and physics skills, as well as enhanced my soft skills, which I consider to be essential in tutoring. This summer I would be happy to take on classes for students from SAT to Alevel in the subjects mentioned above.
