About Simone

Hey guys,
my name is Simone, I'm a 24 year old girl from Germany and work usually as a Kindergarten teacher, for which I finished an apprenticeship in Germany.
In the past years I was able to gather lots of experiences in the field of education, as in Kindergartens, High Schools and language institutes. I taught my mothertongue German, as well as English and was able to help students pass their Goethe exams in order to study in Germany, or their toefl tests to go abroad to the USA.
I enjoy teaching as much as learning and are always surprised how many new things about the german language my students and me discover together.
In general I always try to bring some fun into my lessons with games, puzzles and topics that are close to your life, not to the textbook. Learning German means understanding the background and culture of it, as well as connecting it with who you are and your own culture.
What I always bring to my lessons are a lot of patience, optimism and an encouraging smile.

About the lesson

When it comes to studying languages I like to seperate the learning process in 5 different categories: Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking and Grammar. All Categories are equally important since basic grammar is the key in the beginning, while speaking and writing skills reach more importance later on. A lesson with me would usually be about 60 minutes long and can be adapted to all levels and ages.
I have 2 years experience in working as a German teacher for adults in a private language institute setting, as well as for teenagers in High School. In addition to that I offered a german language speaking club on the weekends for 2 years for all ages and levels.
Especially the speaking club made me realize that the greatest things I can teach my students are: Confidence and allowing yourself to make mistakes.
