About Neil

I help adults speak English more clearly, confidently, and naturally in real-world situations — especially at work and in everyday communication.

Many learners already understand English well but struggle to speak fluently in meetings, interviews, presentations, or fast-paced conversations. My focus is helping you bridge that gap between knowing English and actually using it with confidence.

I’m a CELTA-qualified English teacher with over 25 years of international experience working across 20+ countries, including organisations such as HP, BP, Hitachi, and SITA.

Alongside teaching, I’ve spent my career working in global teams and multicultural environments, so I understand the communication challenges that arise when language, culture, and confidence intersect.

I also bring personal experience as a language learner, having studied Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, and Turkish — so I understand the learning process from both sides.

I work best with:

-professionals using English at work in Australia or internationally
-migrants and new arrivals building confidence in daily communication
-international students adjusting to academic and social English
-adults who feel fluent in theory but less confident speaking in practice

My approach is calm, practical, and supportive, with a strong focus on real communication rather than textbook learning.

About the lesson

Every session is adapted to your individual needs and goals.

Some students focus on pronunciation and speaking clarity. Others need support with workplace communication such as meetings, presentations, or interviews. Many simply want a relaxed space to practise speaking and build confidence without pressure.

Sessions are conversational, structured, and practical.

We focus on real-life communication, including:

- speaking more naturally and fluently
- improving pronunciation and clarity
- building confidence in workplace communication
- preparing for interviews and presentations
- everyday conversation and social interaction
- understanding Australian and international communication styles
- reducing hesitation and overthinking when speaking

Sessions are not textbook-driven. While I provide structure and guidance, everything is based on your real communication needs and goals.

I also use a project-based learning approach where helpful. The “Life is a Project” idea helps break larger communication goals into small, achievable steps, making progress more manageable and consistent over time.

I mainly work with:

- professionals using English at work
- migrants and new arrivals in Australia
- international students
- mature learners
- quieter or reflective adults rebuilding speaking confidence

Qualifications:

CELTA-qualified (UK) English teacher
MSc (Distinction) in Project Management
25+ years of international experience across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East
