About Ryan
Originally from mid Wales and now based in Stoke newington, I am a creative, kind and patient tutor with experience in a range of subjects.
I completed did my degree at The University of York and have been teaching since graduating in 2012. Schools include Reigate Grammar School. St George's in Maida Vale and Dunraven School in Streatham. I tutor both primary and secondary school levels from reception to A Level. With KS1, 2 and 3 I am fully equipped to prepare students for SATs and 11+ examinations as well as providing extra support in English, Maths, Science, Grammar and reading and writing. For secondary school pupils I provide tuition in English, History and Drama up to GCSE and A Level.
I believe in finding a good tutor who the child can connect and engage with. The process needs to be fun as well as rewarding and something to look forward to as well as benefit from. I feel it is important to inspire students to think for themselves and rely and trust their intelligence and abilities. My approach is always to distill this level of thinking, to search for answers everywhere and to establish independent thinkers. I believe this has shown in my success rate with previous pupils and I always come highly recommended. Due to the unpredictability of this uncertain time, I imagine that most of my lessons will be conducted online as the vast majority of my current students are switching to this method now. I believe it can be just as effective and I am confident I am able to deliver just as well prepared and concise lessons. Any questions however, please do get in touch.
I am an actor with a degree in theatre and also offer drama tuition up to degree level as well acting coaching and LAMDA exams.
