About Caroline
I have a First Class degree in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford and have spent 12 years working in schools in Oxfordshire and the East Midlands, including two schools rated Outstanding. I have extensive experience of teaching up to A level in German and AS level in French. I specialise in teaching the films required for these A level courses, and have worked for the Goethe-Institut Film department as well as teaching the old and new WJEC Film Studies course.

In my approach, I ensure that the most useful verb phrases and key vocabulary is practised thoroughly with plenty of opportunities for re-using the most important structures and applying them in new contexts, to ensure confidence and mastery. Knowing how to approach exams in the most effective way is important to you, so I will pass on the many tips and tricks I have gathered from studying exams and marking criteria over the years. My German is native level and my grammar and subject knowledge is second-to-none, if you are looking to really develop your expertise in the language. I also have experience and training in Oxbridge applications and can advise on personal statements, as well as conducting practice interviews, giving you preparation activities and reading lists.

Perfect! Caroline is an experienced teacher and has tailored her course precisely to my individual needs. She is patient, reliable and approachable with a good sense of humour. Her subject knowledge is superb, both on an academic and colloquial level. Oh and as an aside she has a 1st from Oxbridge and is fully bilingual! I would absolutely recommend her as a German tutor.

Lessons may be shorter if requested and will be adjusted as an equivalent of the hourly rate. Lessons can be rescheduled at no cost up to 24 hours beforehand. Any lessons cancelled or rescheduled after this will incur a £10 fee. Any non-attended lessons (with no apology given will incur full fee).
