About Siya

I am a fourth year electrical engineering student at the University of Pretoria with a strong passion and drive for education. I've been involved in tutoring since my time in high school, helping class mates build an intuitive understanding of all the concepts covered along with helping first and second year engineering students with their modules and test preparation. What sets me apart is the low barrier to entry of my lessons, and the intuition I like to build up for my students.

About the lesson

My approach to private tutoring is to address the individual needs of the students I'll be working with. This involves strengthening key areas in the subject field and identifying and working towards specified goals together.

I offer in person and online classes for maths, physics, and chemistry. My lessons are in English and can either be one hour or two depending on the student's preference. The lessons are targeted towards students looking to improve in the aforementioned subject field, and those hoping to improve on their fundamental grasp of the concepts covered.

What students can be expected from a typical tutoring session is plenty of worked examples and the context which can be used to build intuitive understanding. Examples are drawn from question papers so they can be the most relevant, and time is more spent on the thought process rather than just the final answer. Every step is explained, and care is taken to ensure everything follows logically.

My lessons are targeted at students at a high school level with a strong desire to improve. I'm hoping to help those students through my lessons to get closer to their goals.
