About Hanako

I am a working actor in Film, TV & Theatre. Most recent credits include NETFLIX' 'The Crown' and upcoming Feature Film 'Official Secrets', starring Keira Knightley. I have had the pleasure of working with some fantastic actors including Matt Smith, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode and Daniel Radcliffe. I would love to share my growing knowledge of the work we actors do on stage, on set and on screen. As well as the work we have to do prior to auditions.
I trained at LAMDA and now have been working in the industry for 7 years.

About the lesson

Hello! If you are a student looking to gain a place at Drama School then there will be an initial chat with me about the chosen pieces and songs for your audition. Then I will ask you to give the one piece you are finding the most difficult a 'go'. From that showing, I will then guide you and lead you to a richer, deeper interpretation of your chosen work. I am only interested in the truth of the character and the writing. What you bring to the pieces is beautiful and unique; I am here to encourage that. I don't like to think in terms of failure. But rather ask questions like, what have you learnt? Where can I take this? How deep can I go with this character? The answer is: there is no limit. Every lesson is catered to the individual. I recognise what is needed in that moment, person to person.

If you are looking to explore acting for personal fulfilment or to see if this is something worth pursuing, then I will ask you to choose either a monologue or a duologue of your choice, and we can explore and work on it together. Very much in the same way I mentioned above, but without any external pressures.

If you need help with a Film, TV or Theatre Audition, I will ask you to send the material to me 24 hours before our meeting if possible. We will have an initial talk about the character and script. Then we can work on it with or without a camera set up, depending on your preference. Again, aiming to gain a deeper understanding of the character.

I can also help with casting techniques. I have done hundreds of auditions, and I've learnt a few very useful tricks on the way. Things that will calm your nerves and make you feel as prepared as possible. Good luck, and I look forward to meeting you!
