About Jacci

Jacci has been not only a practitioner of yoga, functional fitness, meditation and breathwork for over 25 years, she has been a teacher and teacher training for the 20 years.

As a teacher, Jacci invites her students to go inside and feel rather than focusing on what the pose looks like. She uses the techniques of inquiry, witnessing and allowing to encourage students to be present with their life in the moment.

Jacci has over 1500 hours of training in a wide variety of yoga disciplines in addition to receiving her Masters of Health Science from The George Washington University. She completed her 200 and 500 hour yoga teacher training at the Kripalu Center for Yoga in addition to completing a second 500 hour certification in yoga therapy (ERYT-500). She is a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT), registered prenatal yoga teacher (RPYT), as well as a Thai Yoga Massage Therapist.

I enjoy sharing something that has had such a profound effect on my life, allowing me to live more fully alive with others. Watching individuals take what I share and transform their own lives physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually keeps me doing the work.

Prior to owning a yoga studio and leading yoga teacher trainings, I was the Director of the Arlington County Government Wellness Program. I regularly hired yoga instructors to teach to our employees. This gave me an opportunity to experience yoga as well and I was hooked. When the Yoga Therapy field opened up it was a perfect marrying of my love of yoga and my masters degree.

I have a Masters in Health Science, am a certified Yoga Therapist, a Thai Massage Therapist and a registered prenatal yoga teacher. In additional I have over 1500 hours of training time in yoga, meditation, and breathwork.

About the lesson

Depending on the type of work I will be doing with a student (yoga, yoga therapy, meditation, breathwork, functional fitness) I start with a targeted assessment to determine the student's current state of being and desired outcomes from the work.

Because of the diversity of what I can provide, I work with all ages and abilities of students. A lot of my work these days is with older individuals who might have illness or injury.

I think you want to make sure you and that teacher are a good fit. Try an in-person meeting or phone call to get a sense of this teacher being present to your needs and experiences.

I have been working with an individual client for the last 1.5 years after she experienced a terrible accident. Watching her re-connect with her body and movenent in her body has been inspiring.

Do they ask for an intake and conversation before they get started?
