About Shena

I love yoga and love to share the practice with others. Although yoga today focuses more on the physical practice, I believe the practice is of most benefit when we work to include all the limbs of yoga including kindness to ourselves and others and working internally through breath and concentration.

I enjoy seeing the profound difference a dedicated yoga practice can have on someone's life... When they have that AHA moment and realize yoga was the link they had been missing.

I am a 500 hour certified yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. My original 200 hour training was in Ashtanga, flow, yin, and hot yoga. My additional 300 hour yoga training had curriculum in gentle, restorative, adaptive/chair yoga, prenatal, trauma informed, and yoga nidra. I also have training to support breast cancer survivors through the Christina Phipps foundation, as well as training focused on the aging population.

About the lesson

Hello! I have a dedicated yoga room where I prefer to teach my yoga students. I can travel to your location as well. The style of yoga will vary with the student's needs. We will have indepth discussion on what the student is looking for, any limitations, and how we can tailor classes to best suit their needs. I can also offer Zoom online private instruction in this time of social distancing if needed.

I have worked with students from fit to fragile. Most recently my work has been with Cancer Wellness students and the aging population. I enjoy working with students of all fitness levels and have also worked with cross fit athletes, baseball players, and 9-5 working adults.

To realize that there are many styles of yoga and all types of personalities. If you don't resonate with your first teacher please try again. Yoga is a wonderful practice that will be of great benefit to your health both mentally and physically.
