About Debby

I have experience teaching all levels and different styles of yoga. I am especially passionate about teaching beginning/intermediate students. I have a strong background in anatomy and physiology and understand the importance of alignment and also what types of movement/postures are appropriate for each unique person. The phyiscal postures of yoga are one small part of the practice of yoga. Learning to use the physical postures, breath work and other tools to ultimately achieve a more balanced and healthy lifestyle.

I enjoy working with clients and helping them understand their bodies and empowering them to better health.

As a massage therapist I encounter clients who are usually suffering from pain, or some discomfort. I wanted to be able to offer other types of therapies to help them achieve their goals. With my knowledge of anatomy and alignment, I believed that I would be able to share that knowledge to help clients become more aware of their bodies as well as become stronger physically and mentally.

I completed an 1100 hour massage therpay training program in New York and continue to practice massage therapy. In April 2016, I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training program (RYT-200) with Enlighten Yoga in Charlotte. In March of 2019 I completed my RYT-500 yoga certification. I currently teach private yoga as well as group classes.

About the lesson

The first session is designed to assess and understad the client's goals and needs. Once this is determined, the frequency of sessions can be established.

I have worked with ALL levels of students. From beginner to advanced. I have also worked with athletes and understand the physical challenges of different sports.

I think the biggest piece of advice is finding someone you are comfortable with. Someone who is able to meet you where you are on your yoga path. This may take meeting several teachers to find someone who is a good match.
