About Jillian
Pulling from a diverse toolkit of yogic techniques, I custom tailor each session for the individual according to their needs that day. Classes are structured to include more than breakdown of poses with detailed instruction on breathing techniques and energetic practices as well as various meditation techniques and exploration of vocal sounding and chakra awareness. Classes include offerings from hatha, restorative, yin, and kundalini.
Yoga has changed my life and I am passionate about sharing it! It is deeply rewarding to witness people as they begin a yoga journey as the many AH - HA moments begin to unfold both in relation to the body and it's amazing abilities as well as the gaining greater self-awareness and often a more balanced and perhaps even joyful attitude about life itself! My biggest joy in teaching is to help students gain the foundation required to develop their own lifelong practice. I am a 500 ERYT, yoga teacher trainer and LMT.
I came down with the yoga bug before I could read, finding books and emulating and studying the pictures of the loin clothed yogis.
Decades later, I began my teaching journey after studying with Tamal Dodge in Santa Monica, where he asked me to sub his classes after I completed my training with him. My first actual public class took place at Burning Man and there were over 70 dusty bottomed yogis there, one of them my Mom.
After a couple of years of teaching Vinyasa style yoga, I traveled to India to study yoga at the worlds birthplace of yoga, Rishikesh India.

Before the first session I provide a complimentary phone consultation where we discuss your goals and previous experience to custom tailor our first session to your needs.
I have worked with all types of students ranging from children to the elderly.
People in recovery from addiction, dealing with high stress life situations, seeking greater flexibility or strength, celebrities and professional athletes and stay at home moms and even people working with plant medicines to help with the release of trauma.
Before I came to Portland for massage school I was teaching internationally in India and Peru.
