About Katie
Excel tutoring focuses on establishing a personal connection with each student, and structuring tutoring sessions around the student's particular learning style and academic needs. I believe relationship-building and effective communication are essential parts of the learning process.
I love being able to celebrate students' successes with them and watch them grow as thinkers and problem-solvers.
I am a first-year student at Georgia Tech studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. I completed my high school education at Middletown High School South, where I graduated second in my class. I am well-equipped to tutor the following subjects:
- High school math (Algebra I- AP Calculus BC)
- High school english (including AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition)
- SAT Math/Reading + Writing (score: 1570)
- High school science (AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics 1/C)
- Computer science (proficient in java and MATLAB)
In high school, I had many experiences tutoring my peers through my high school's National Honor Society and other organizations. I also tutored multiple students privately in math and science.

This helps me to customize our session to their needs, so that they can reap the maximum benefit from our time together.
